Almost a half year old!
We've been teaching the girls to sit up on their own and roll over (kind of sad to say it that way, almost like a dog, but that's the facts folks). Both girls managed to eat a full jar of 1st sweet potatoes last night and as you can tell they are good eaters. Sophie is growing at an alarmingly fast rate and can now somewhat fit a size 9 month onesie!!! They've both been drooling and grabbing monsters.
Hannah is more of the observer and Sophie is in a phase of dropping things on the ground to see what happens. Hannah is still a smiley girl and she loves to chat and laugh. She is still in a "mommy" phase at times and these days if she doesn't know you she will start to cry. Sophie is still laid back and she'll go to anyone and not be phased at all by strangers. They've both been sleeping on a schedule approximately from 8:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m., so I've been deprived of some good bonding time. These days I desperately look forward to the weekend (ok, more so than the average person), so I can spend some quality time with the little munchkins. I miss the girls so much that Derek is sick of hearing me say, "I miss the babies"!
Oh on a silly note at Sugar Butter Flour there is a dessert called Hannah Banana Bread.

And the Oscar goes to
Every year Aunty Kimbo has an Oscar party at her house. This year there was rock band (the game), although we didn't get to play we got to catch up with some old friends (sort of, actually I'm sorry if I didn't get to talk to a lot of people! The babies were a handful unfortunately). Earlier in the day Hannah was fussy, so there's not a lot of pics of her. Hannah is going through a "I want mommy" phase, so it's been a little hard on everyone's ears lately.
The girls have tried all of the 1st baby foods, the last of the bunch was apples and they both love it. I'll probably talk to the pediatrician at the next appointment to see when to feed 2's to the girls and if I need to change their diet. The six month appointment is coming up, I can't believe they're almost a 1/2 year old!!!
Mommy, Hannah, and Aunty Kimbo. Here Hannah is sticking her finger up her nose. That is for Uncle Ed who wasn't there, he was in India..hee hee!

Happy President's Day
Today the girls and I were flying solo as daddy went to work today. We had great adventures as we started the day off with Aunty Liz and Aunty Tamara who helped mama feed the twins (Thanks ladies!!!). Later we went to Ming's for dim sum with Aunty Tamara and Aunty Hee Rae and had loads of fun. Then we shuffled off to Toys R Us to pick up our toys we got a Baby Grand Piano and a shape sorter (yes, there was a sale and yes I did do a bit of shopping this past weekend). You'd think the day ended, but nooooooo mommy took us for a walk with Emi. Whew after a long day the girls winded down with some classical music...g'night!
Mommy makes me wear all sorts of hats. The Banana in a cute pink baseball cap one of the purchases this past weekend :D
Solid Food Stats:
Sophie Likes: Peas, Carrots, Prunes, and Peaches!
Sophie Dislikes: Green Beans and Pears :(

Say My Name
Ok, so you're thinking what's with a title blog entry called, "Say My Name", well turns out we went to Aunty Neren's house tonight to play rock band on the Xbox and that was the name they came up for their band. The daddies in the house rocked out as the ladies and babies watched.
Today Hannah was having a bad day (she had her first long crying session), so as soon as we got to Neren's house we thought she was just grumpy as she started to cry again. Turned out mommy and daddy were forgetful and forgot to feed the babies on time DOH! After that all was well with the girls and they pretty much enjoyed the music the guys were playing.
Thank you Aunty Neren for a fun evening!

I heart you
For the past three days the girls have been eating bananas, Soph Soph doesn't care too much for it and Hannah Banana loves it (good thing too because of her nickname LOL). Tomorrow we are going to try some prunes (so far Sophie doesn't like any fruit).
The girls have been practicing turning over and with a little help they do it quite well. Hannah is getting much better on her tummy and Soph Soph well she's just a pro at it. As for eating solid foods Sophie is just messy as heck, but Hannah is a natural and will open her mouth and swallow as if she knew how to do this all along. These days Hannah enjoys screeching and yelling, she's preparing to become a punk rock singer or something. Derek thinks this screaming banshee phase is funny, I'm less enthused. All in all they're happy babies and like always Der and I think we're the luckiest parents.
Ok, time for bed it's been a long week. All of us are looking forward to the three day weekend.
-Good night!

Rocker Chicks
Today the girls dressed up in Aunty Angie's skull onesies (daddy was really excited and went off taking a bunch of pics). Later we went on a little shopping spree and bought essentials and some books (abc, colors, animals, numbers, etc) and toys (cellphone, keys, and a night light that projects on the ceiling). Also today mark's the first day of trying fruits, we started off with pears. I tried some and thought it was pretty darn good, but both girls took some time to eat the 1/4 serving, seems like they like veggies more... Are these really my babies??? Hahahah!
At the end of the day people were asking if Sophie was a boy (the black skull outfit didn't help LOL), sadly if the girls aren't wearing pink people automatically think they're boys.

Thanks for the clothes - Aunty Angie, Aunty Cindy B, Aunty Shawntay, Aunty Elisa, Aunty Cynthia, and unfortunately I can't remember who gave the pink sweater that Hannah's wearing, but if you're reading this thank you!

What makes me laugh?
The girls seem to laugh more often these days and it makes me happy, truly happy. You laugh and then they laugh just because they're happy because you're happy. Simple and easy as that. Ah, if only life was so simple. But it's these types of discoveries that make parenting worth every second and I can't wait for the next developmental stages.
Hannah for some reason thinks that the diaper changing station is really funny, she giggles every time she lies there.
Playdate, Superbowl, and Birthday
This past Sunday we went to Eamon's house for a playdate and to watch the Superbowl and to celebrate Mark and Benson's birthday (yes, it's a run-on sentence, but I don't care). The girls had fun. In the pics you only see Sophie, Hannah unfortunately slept through the photo session.
Thank you Uncle Mark and Aunty Berry for inviting us over and the food was grrrreat!
