Who's Babysitting Who?

Here Sophie and Hannah are watching Uncle Hsin :P

Thanks Sonya for the pic and the title of the blog!

More Teeth and no sale

Hannah, Auntie Sonya, and Sophie. Thanks for watching us we had fun!

So while Mommy is on this trendy frozen yogurt bit (Yoswirl in Fremont and Yogurtland in Cupertino, darn Asians really know how to hook us in first Pearl Milk Tea and now this!) and dragging Daddy into this fascination, we babies have been growing our teeth. Hannah has 4 upper teeth coming in and finally Sophie's 2 lower teeth are poking through. Although the yogurt is so good we are not allowed to have any as of yet :(

We're also getting the hang of walking with Mommy holding our hands. Sophie loves giving "fives", clapping her hands together, waving, saying mama over and over *BIG SMILES*, and doing the "We Are the World" Stevie Wonder dance. Meanwhile Hannah's dance is waving her hands in the air, doing some twinkle twinkle hand movements, we also think she signs milk (not absolutely sure though), Hannah likes to say dada over and over again *Daddy is smiling*, and still smiling up a storm.

Uncle Hsin and Auntie Sonya watched us today for a couple of hours (earlier we had lunch at Corner Place and had some meat jun, but it did not even compare to Wahiawa's Dong Yang!!!) while the parental units looked at the Bob Revolution duallie stroller at Sports Basement as Mommy has an obsession with that stroller (as well as the Zooper and some other high end strollers since our stroller broke from the airlines handling it). Sports Basement prices are relatively cheap and Mommy's work place gave her a 20% off coupon....ooh, but temptation lost today! Also Mommy was tempted to buy a quad core computer (for better blogging?), but temptation lost there as well. Apparently Memorial Day Sales this year was not all that!

Alot of Pictures

Blogger still having problems with rotation, turn head to right. I always think pictures of babies sleeping is one of the cutest, here Hannah proves me right.

Hannah eating her corn star crackers...yum!

Poor Emi feels left out.

Success!!! Sophie passed out.

The Plague

By now you think the Sakai household should be clear of any contamination of that previous cold... Maybe Mommy has been watching too many virus type movies (28 Weeks Later & I am Legend) which freaked her out, but now as Sophie and Daddy get better Hannah has gotten worse (she might have a new strain) last night and had a really high fever of 104.3 degrees. Scaring Daddy and Mommy into calling the after hour hot-line. Seems like 105 is the key temperature to taking a baby into the emergency room and if you know me I was on edge to pack the girls up and go!

Luckily Mommy spent many a nights before without sleep and was able to calm her nerves and do all the right things before calling the on-call. The advice the nurse gave was after babies reach 6 months and over it is recommended that if they run a high fever to use Motrin instead of Tylenol (ok, as adults we all know that Tylenol doesn't do much for us OTC addicts, but did not know it was the case for babies too!). With that simple advice and maybe just hearing that it'll be ok from a professional, we all settled down and tried to get some rest. Yes, we are total parenting newbs!!!

Sophie is cheery in her exersaucer.

Fever is down and although she's sick Hannah is in good spirits.

Sneezy Breezy

Mother nature can't seem to make up it's mind around these parts and so the weather is somewhat chilly again. What does this mean? Back to warm clothes and Miss Hannah has a relapse of her cold.

Not much more on updates other than the girls are more active. They enjoy rolling around and playing on the floor. No, they're not crawling yet, but I get them moving by "helping" them walk around which they both seem to find the most amusing thing to do. I figure they might just skip crawling and go to walking...you just never know. Sophie makes eating, changing diapers, and heck just holding her a chore. She is so active makes me scared to think what will happen after she gets mobile. Hannah banana is the mellow one completely opposite of her sister she likes to be held and although she's "grabby", she manages to sit still and eat her food properly.

Sophie's crib chillin' with Pooh.

Restless Hannah in her crib.

Let's all make a funny face! Hannah, Sophie, and Lauren.

Sunday Smiles

This weekend we pretty much relaxed since we were all tired from getting over our colds (Sophie is still congested at night, poor baby). We did manage to go to a corgi meet, at the Shoreline dog park, where the girls got to see all the little critters run around and Emi got to have a treat by playing with her own kind. After the meet we met up with Uncle Hsin and had lunch. Later we had our third swim class session where we did our first submersion and we both did great!

Sunday we all really hung out at home and Daddy busted out Mitts the doggy bubble maker. Our friend Lauren came over and enjoyed the bubbles with us out on our porch. The neighbors got to enjoy it too as the bubbles floated up, up, and away! We got to take a walk with Mommy and Daddy later to get more juice for us as the weather is really hot and Mommy doesn't want us to get dehydrated (We're having the girls drink more water and juice).

Some fun things we do now is wiggle to the music, put our hands up to be picked up, "give me five" (especially Sophie), we are excellent at picking up crackers to put in our mouths, smashing toys together, covering our mouths and doing the American Indian, "wo, wo, wo", and we are trying our best to figure out crawling (Sophie rolls and Hannah does backward movement).

Emi and her new friends.

Sophie and Hannah. Look at that smile!!!

Soph and the banana having fun with their toys.

You can't see, but Mommy is trying to make us laugh.

Busy having fun.

Daddy Give me the camera!

So the virus is still lingering in the Sakai household, some are experiencing it worse than others. Hannah seems to have recovered fully and Mommy seems 90% better. Daddy is having issues and so is Sophie (thought they were both getting better, but unfortunately not).

Besides being stuffed up, the weather has taken its turn for the worst and we're in the midst of a heatwave. Today it was quite warm and the news said that there will be a warning tomorrow and to stay in the shade, there will be shelters for people that need cooling. Good thing our house has A/C!!! We're not entirely great here as the girls are having trouble adjusting to the warmer weather for the past two nights they had trouble sleeping.

I'm a rolling people! The banana having some floor time. She's not exactly good at it, but practice makes perfect.

Sophie is a pro roller, it's her way of getting around.

I have teeth, see!

Sophie is destined to be a musician.

Are you the next American Idol?

This weekend was a great break from all the stuffiness and coughing. We all felt a bunch better and went off to swim class on Saturday where Sophie had a grand ole time and Hannah did better in the water. However, things didn't go all that smoothly as Hannah spent most of Sunday crying and we didn't really know what caused it...poor baby!!! She does have more teeth coming in on on the top, about two more, but we don't really know for sure if that was the case as we put some oragel that Auntie Liz kindly gave us to use, but the Banana was just not happy :(

After some dim sum in San Leandro with Auntie Flo and Uncle Ray we played American Idol, a PS2 game (Thank you Auntie Flo and Uncle Ray!!!). Hannah finally came around and started to smile and play, yay Banana!

Here Hannah starts off with the ball.

Sophie has the ball now...hmmm...I wonder why? Sophie always takes the toys away from Hannah, but that doesn't stop Hannah from smiling at Mommy :)

Sophie's turn to smile.

Happy 1st Mother's Day!

Is Uncle Ray the next American Idol? Here Uncle Ray and Daddy sing What is Love.

Maybe Auntie Flo and Mommy are the next American Idols. Where's Daddy? Daddy's picture was blurry, so no pics of him :(

Auntie Flo with Soph Soph.

Here Hannah finally warms up to Uncle Ray and look at that smile! :)

Thank you to Ray and Flo for lunch and the game!
Thank you to Daddy for making Mommy's first Mother's day great!
Also special thanks to Auntie Joy in Hawaii for the Mommy's day gift!
