Jabberwockies

Tonight the girls and I had fun, there was a lot of talking going on. Of course I had to capture it on film and share. This past weekend the twins got to talk to Nana Kage and both girls had a lot to say.

Not much to report on other than Hannah is making progress on her mobility and we're all excited for her.

Hann munching on her keys.

Soph Soph standing.

Here the girls are chatting with one another.

By the way if you look up what a jabberwocky is there is actually a definition :P

Pics from the weekend

Sophie taking a nap with Daddy.

Hannah likes to cruise along the gate.

Auntie Flo and Uncle Ray came to visit us this past weekend before their trip to the east coast.
Here Auntie Flo and Hannah are all smiles.

Sophie really liked Auntie Flo's shiny necklace, she is already getting into jewelry.

All of my Babies

My first fur baby - Kiki a.k.a. Keeks
Here she looks grumpy and wants more attention. Kiki loves having the twins pet her even though most of the time they're either hitting her or pinching her. What a great older baby!!!

My second oldest baby - Emi a.k.a. Em Em
Emi is always happy, always following mommy around and although she loves the twins she is smart enough to know that she doesn't want to be hit or pinched, so she runs away from the babies unless they're in the playpen or in the car seat.

Third oldest baby - Sophie a.k.a. Soph Soph, Soapy, Sweet pea, Sweetie pie, Cutie
Sophie is active, doesn't like to listen to mama, has an infectious laugh and smile, loves to take toys away from people, and loves to eat.

My youngest baby [with the mad scientist hair-do] - Hannah a.k.a. Hannah Banana, Hann, Sweet pea, Sweetie pie, Cutie pie
Hannah isn't as active, but loves to stand and will complain if she isn't standing, easy going she too has an infectious smile and laugh, loves to imitate mommy, loves her binky, and enjoys being carried.

Is it the weekend yet?

The girls were really fussy tonight, I think this weekend really got all of us tired. Ok, actually maybe just for us old folks. I think the girls are trying to adapt to the harsh weather change (it's cold again, but a few days ago it was hot). Both girls have a mild case of the cold, Hannah is coughing and Soph is sneezing.

Sophie continues to stand on her own and she learned to go down on her own too. She managed to take one step towards Der, but got too excited to do anymore. Every time she stands on her own she gets as excited as we do and loses her balance from getting too happy hahaha!

Hann did stand for a couple of seconds herself, but after Der and I said, "Yay!" she too was too excited to stand. She ended up dancing around and hopping up and down when I tried to stand her back up. I guess we have to contain ourselves every time the girls stand.

I found my second wind and managed to post an entry of tonights happenings...

Sophie on the rampage.

Hannah being the cute silly baby she is.

Hann exhausted, but still manages to play with the many toys.

Hann looks like she's ready for beddy bye.

Party party

Today we went to a couple of parties. First was Lily's 2nd birthday party; Happy Birthday Lily! The girls had fun playing with everyone. Soph was all over the place exploring and playing. Miss Hann was with mama and actually sang a song from one of the girl's toys (it really sounded like she was singing "clean up, clean up" which was part of the song, so cute!!!). Earlier in the day Hannah mimicked me and said, "tag". Hannah likes to chew on tags, but she knew what it was and said the word! So although Hann's mobility skills are lacking, her speaking skills have come some ways.

Later we went to Huey's and we got to see authentic Okinawan shinsan, flute (some kind of flute instrument), singing, and Japanese fan dancing. The girls had fun listening and watching (immersed in Japanese culture and tradition). It made me realize that I need to start studying and speaking some Japanese at home. More than my one liner Einstein book sentences.

***Thank you to Shawntay and family for inviting us to Lily's party!***
***Thank you to Huey and family for inviting us to their party!***

Bethany, Lily, really nice girl who played with Soph and Hann (sorry didn't get her name, but I believe it was a family member), Daddy, and Sophie.

Hannah having fun at Uncle Huey's house. No pics of the actual shows, because we were busy with the babies :(

Sophie and Daddy.

Hannah acting silly.

Sophie checking out Uncle Huey's guitar equipment. Rock on!

After we came from Huey's the girls crashed hard and slept fast in their cribs :D

Somewhat standing

Soph standing (although that's only for a few sec she can stand without leaning) and playing with Hann, Daddy, and meerkat

What the heck is that? Eons ago Uncle Eric gave that cow sound maker (I forgot what movie that was from); here the girls don't know what to think of it.

Mommy enjoys this song and sings it to us.

Everywhere I Go

Sophie has started to stand on her own for a couple of days now. Now every time she does it in front of Der and I we clap our hands and say, "Yay!!!". We also dropped Soph's crib to the very last setting! She's growing up so fast :(

My sweet Hannah is still our little baby. She does have a whole mouth of teeth though, a couple of days ago two more teeth grew in and now she has a total of 8 teeth. 4 on top and 4 on the bottom.

Hannah and Soph attached at the hip.

Sophie is patting Hannah on the back re-affirming her to stand on her own.

Hann can stand as long as she's holding or leaning up against something. Here she's leaning on the toy piano. She looks as if she's saying, "Yes, I would like some ice-cream!!!".

Hann is busy holding on for dear life and meanwhile Soph is making faces at Mommy :P

This is one of our favorite songs to listen to.

s-a-t-u-r-d-a-y

Today we went to dim sum and the girls got a lot of attention from the staff at New Hong Kong Seafood restaurant in Hayward. Sophie kept smiling and waving to one of the waitresses. Soph Soph and Hann got plastic spoons to play with (thanks staff!) and the staff wanted to get them some food they could eat, but we said that was ok. Hann and Soph got to eat part of Mommy's shrimp and bread of the baked char siu bau and some beef ball (which Daddy ordered). Don't worry they ate healthy baby food squash shortly after :P

After lunch we went to the Oakland zoo, but Mommy forgot the camera, so there wasn't any pics this time. She was nice enough to get us some stuffed animals though! Sophie really liked the meerkat stuffed animal and Mommy picked a leopard out for Hann. As you can see from the pics they both loved their buddies.

Later the girls took a nice nap and we headed over to our neighbor's house for a child's birthday party. It was quite a day, but it didn't end there Sophie showed off tonight by standing on her own for a few seconds!!! I think it's any day now that she will be walking. Hann is still making no advances on mobility, but she copies me. She claps when I clap, shakes her hands when I do them, etc. Hann is quite amazing when learning which stumps me on why she doesn't move. Soph on the other hand is advancing like crazy cruising around everywhere and her physical know how is amazing. Physically she is strong in her legs, arms, and hands , watch out for those pinches they are a doosie. She also has 5 teeth that has come through. Sophie also has become a little attached to me and calls out "mama" and cries if I leave the room which is flattering, but I hope it's just a phase.

With all these new developments I can see that just months after our last trip home, this plane ride will be a very interesting 5 hr ride.

Hann with the leopard and Soph clutching her meerkat tight.

Oh oh everyone likes the meerkat!

Sophie in her fabulous t-shirt that Auntie Neren got her (thank you Neren!!!) while Hannah looks on.

Maybe we hung out with the animals too long; Sophie plays the bongo on Hannah.

Playing at Night

Hey, where's your money? I have some in my mouth.
Sophie plays with her new toy a Fisher Price toy purse that comes with fake money, a mirror, plastic bracelet, plastic lipstick, and keys.

The girls like the rings. Der and I like to balance them on their heads and it's fun to watch each baby's reaction. Hannah will take it off and try to put it back on her head. Sophie will be make a funny face.

Someone's too big...

...for her swing!

Couldn't leave out having a cute pic of Miss Hannah.

A Little Aloha

Today we met up with Elisa, Jacob, Ryoko, Cynthia, Ray, and Sachie at The House of Chicken and Waffles at Jack London Square in Oakland. Shortly to their arrival Elisa & co. witnessed some drive-by shooting (yes, in Oakland)!!! Before we met up with Elisa guys we had some time and so we took in the touristy sites. The girls, Daddy, and I went walking along the pier and went into Barnes & Noble.

Here are some pics of today's adventure:

Strolling in our new comfy stroller along the docks; this reminds Mommy of when Grandpa Kage used to take her as a child to all the docks in Hawaii.

Daddy, Sophie, and Hannah. In the distance is Scott's Seafood.

Soph and Hann were disappointed that they didn't get to see any seals today.

Daddy and Uncle Ray pose with the heavy metal group Hirax at The House of Chicken and Waffles. Uncle Ray was going to see them later today in a concert at the park with headliners Exodus.

Back row: Jacob, Ryoko, Elisa, Mommy, Daddy, Sachie.
Front row: Sophie, Hannah, Ray.
Who's missing?....Auntie Cynthia!

Happy 4th of July!

Happy 4th of July! The girls had a great first 4th of July celebration. We were lucky to be invited to two bbq's and spend the day with good friends. First we dropped Emi off at Ray and Flo's then headed to Mark and Berry's. Where we got to play with Eamon and see Auntie Neren, her cousin, Benson, Anna, and Ethan.

Thank you Eamon for letting us play with all your toys! Thank you Mark and Berry for inviting us! Thank you to Auntie Neren for the cute t-shirts!!!

Next we went to Ray and Flo's where we met up with our fur baby Em Em who was having a whole lot of fun. Auntie Vincy was gracious enough to help Mommy and Daddy whilst they ate and stuff. The girls got to meet a lot of new friends, but sadly by the end of the day they were very fussy and tired. Not even the fireworks in the neighborhood could keep my little ones from sleeping.

Thanks to Ray, Flo (inviting and taking care of Emi), Vincy (helping with the babies), and Francis (yummy cupcakes!)!

Mommy dressed us up alike today and put on some patriotic bibs. Here we are sitting outside at Mark and Berry's on the blanket, playing with Eamon's toys which Auntie Berry graciously set up for us.

Mommy showers us with love and kisses everyday.

Here we see Eamon's elaborate swim/splash pool thingy. Too bad we're too young to play in it, but we had fun sticking our feet in it. In the background are Auntie Neren, her cousin, and Mark.

Cutie Eamon in the splash zone.

Baby's First 4th.

Mommy and Hannah :)

Auntie Berry and Uncle Mark blew bubbles using the turbo bubble maker. Here we are showered in bubbles wheeeee!

Hannah enjoyed popping the bubbles.

Playtime in the pen

Wow! 10 months!!! I can't believe the girls are already 10 months old, it seems like yesterday they were still little babies.

Sophie is cruising all over the place these days and I think her enthusiasm for standing and trying to walk keeps her from going to sleep like she used to. In her crib she just can't seem to lie down and go to sleep (like she used to) even if she's tired. During playtime she's very brave and wants to bridge over between two holding points, but still hasn't successfully done it.....YET. She is quite an amazing sight to see because one minute she was on the floor sitting and the next she's mobile, standing and trying to walk!

Hannah still has no inclination to get mobile. She does like it when I stand her up and have her hold onto something though. She's been enjoying standing for some time though so it's nothing out of the ordinary. One thing is fascinating to see is that ever since I let Sophie take the toys from Hannah without intervention, Hannah is learning to get the toys back on her own. She now grabs on tighter to her toys and even reaches to grab the toys back. Today however she went a little further and took a toy from Sophie. Ahh I already foresee the fights that will happen between the two girls :(

A visit from our friend Lauren last night. They interact more now that Soph Soph is a little mobile.

Playing with the toy piano.

Hannah sits on her own and observes what everyone else is doing.

It is very difficult now to get these two to look at the camera at the same time. You have to be fast and my shutter speed isn't that fast, so this is a rare pic.
