As promised I finally got around to getting Hannah on film climbing up the stairs. Here Emi watches Hann and daddy was in the background just in case.

Silly silly
Daddy was sick this weekend :( We missed him alot as mommy took us out this past weekend without him. Friday we just rested, but Saturday we got to play with our Aunties and Uncles (Ray, Flo, Vincy, Micah, Eric, and Liz) over at Uncle Eric and Auntie Liz's house. We watched them play rock band 2 as we played with Lauren. Today we went to gymboree with Auntie Liz and got to hang out with Uncle Eric and Lauren too in Fremont. Mommy also took us along to walk Emi around the neighborhood where we got to meet and say hi to our neighbors. Daddy is still sick, but feeling a little better.
Mommy's too busy watching Hannah as Sophie pulls a fast one standing on her toy.

Hannah walks!!!
Hannah can walk!!! 13 months and 1 week to spare before hitting 14 months Miss Hannah Banana can walk. She's been taking three to five steps on her own, but now she's standing on her own and taking more than a few steps by herself.
It seems the learning process has accelerated in the past month and the girls are starting to pick up things much quicker.
Hannah shows her agility of standing on her own.

Our Weekend
We missed going to the pumpkin festival in Half Moon Bay which mommy had her heart set on going to (Reason for not going was mommy had to work). Somehow mommy wanted us to experience going to a pumpkin patch which we probably will end up doing, but I guess there will be no festival next weekend. I think she wanted to go do the pumpkin pie eating contest!!!
Yesterday daddy brought out Mitts the bubble making dog and we had some fun playing with all the bubbles. Hannah and Sophie love bubbles so much and while Mitts was blowing all the bubbles, Hannah kept repeating "Bubbles!" as clear as day! Later mommy sang "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" and little miss Hannah was on a roll she ended up singing it back to mama and doing the hand motions along with it, Wow! Usually she just does the hand motions, but this time she sang. Hann also learned how to sit in the plastic seat on her own and can take a couple steps on her own. She loves using the push toys to get from one end of the playpen to the next. I think she'll be walking on her own by the end of this month or next. Hannah also made the connections between signing and the words. We were grocery shopping and I was asking Derek where is the milk? Hannah signed "milk" and pointed to the milk in the fridge. Unlike big sis Soph, Hann likes drinking water and is somewhat at ease from drinking out of a sippy cup.
Sophie's update is she responds to what we say. I tell her to come to mama and she'll do it where before she would ignore me. Also if I tell her to get the ball or a toy she will do it now and ever so proudly too. If we tell her to go sit on her chair, she will be smiling so big as she does it. Sophie also likes to clean up, but on her own terms hahahahah! She enjoys taking things out of the box and then putting them back in and does this repeatedly. She still has a bad habit of wanting to do or have whatever Hannah has. I call it the big sister, little sister complex. We're working on sorting that out. Sophie will share with adults, but not with other kids. I think she might be an old soul because when we're at gymboree she will interact with other adults, but not with other children.

My Little Padawans
Am I a Star Wars fan? Sure I am!!! But I think Auntie Angie is a bigger fan, she also suggested before we knew the sexes of the babies that we call the twins Luke and Leia...hmmm.... Thanks Auntie Angie for the cute Yoda onesies!
I couldn't get a good shot of Hannah... She somehow doesn't like looking at the camera these days.
Here the girls use the force with some great quotes from the wise one.

Halloween spoiler
I went shopping and bought the girls some chairs that can be used to tie on an adult chair in a restaurant as a highchair. We use it, at the moment, the way Lauren likes to use it as a chair to eat snacks in at home.
Sophie learned to go to the chair when we say, "Sit down Sophie", she proudly goes to it and sits down smiling. Sophie also learned to sign "more" and uses it quite often. She loves to dance and has recently added to her repertoire turning around in circles until she drops.
Hannah has been doing a lot of standing on her own lately and will clap her hands and stand. She also likes using this hippo toy to push around which gives her a lot of practice walking. Hann loves to show off to me by standing up and taking a few steps towards me and diving into my arms. Her favorite song is "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star", she will turn her hands in the air and sing along. She also enjoys not only talking to people, but to dogs and will bark at them.
Today at Gymboree class Hannah surprised me and went through the plastic tunnel on the first try! It was Sophie that hesitated and took a while to convince that it was safe to go through.
Sophie enjoying her new chair. Grandma Kage would say that the hair standing in back of Soph's head is a "giri giri" which is a sign that she's a little rascal. Japanese people from Japan this is a Hawaii Japanese slang saying, do not I repeat do not try to correct this. I have to realize this is a common occurance with words in Hawaii. Japanese people from Hawaii have their own slang (ne ne - sleep, bocha - to take a bath, etc).

Case of the sniffles
I think the girls caught a cold from Gymboree, but I'm not sure as it seems to be going around. The weather has been changing to a cooler temperature, so these outfits that are so cute might not be seen again unless it gets warmer. The twins are in good spirits, despite their congestion and running nose, and are well enough to go to daycare. These pictures were taken on Monday I just haven't had any time to post them. Here they are playing with a new toy and their favorite toy from Daddy.

Jack, Elmo, and us
Back to mainland life and sorting out the routine. The girls did an excellent job of falling back inline with our usual schedule.
Sophie has been mastering a lot of hand - eye coordination as she enjoys putting toys into boxes and taking them out or putting pieces of a toy into place by shape. She does it with such ease and makes us really proud. She also learned to sign "more" today! We are tackling other issues with her however such as bullying kids by taking toys away, having more manners for eating, no screaming, etc. She's making progress as we keep reinforcing rules and learning patience. Yes, this is an exercise not only for the babies, but for us parents too! It's funny how I watched "The Dog Whisperer" and "Nanny 911" or "Super Nanny" and all shows are pretty darn close with the methods used. Not to say that children are dogs or anything, but that it stems from the parents and how they correct these behaviors.
Hannah is still continuing with her cruising and she's not as adept to hand - eye coordination, but is still mimicking us speaking words. She and Sophie enjoy singing and dancing a lot and we've captured some on video. They also love bubbles and can't get enough of watching them float away. Speaking of which we did attend a session of "learn and play" at gymboree and mommy decided that we loved it, so signed us up. We've never seen Hannah more happy in our life, she was so into learning and squealed with delight. Hannah really enjoyed the slide as she climbed up and slipped down on her tummy. She even had two boy admirers....hmmmm....not yet Hannah!!!
Today we took Sophie and Hannah out to Toys 'R' us to get some little chairs for them to sit on while we feed them some snacks in the playpen. A lady in line was taken by the girls and stood in back of Sophie in the shopping cart. She asked Derek how old is Sophie and Der asked Sophie can you show her how old you are? Sophie held up one finger and the lady was amazed! Heck, I was amazed because it's hard to get her to do it on cue hahahaha.
Sophie boogies to Jack's Big Music Show dvd (Thanks Uncle Chris!).
