Girls at play
Today the girls had fun playing at a park in Castro Valley (all the age groups were separated into age related grounds) and of course they enjoyed shopping at Safeway (even though the Safeway at CV is always super crowded on the weekends).

And she'll have fun, fun, fun
Ok, I don't like the Beach Boys, but for some reason those lyrics are stuck in my head. The girls had a fun day today hanging out with friends. They got to play with Eamon, Ethan, Lauren, and Aiden. We hung out at our house first and then met up with Adel and Aiden at the Union City Park near their house.

Gymboree for everyone
Last weekend at Gymboree we had fun with Auntie Anna, Uncle Benson, Ethan, Uncle Eric, and Lauren. By the end we were so tired. Hannah didn't even enjoy the bubbles.
Hannah zones off and looks like Ethan keeps her company.

Union City Park
The girls swinging away.
We went to this park last week and enjoyed it so much that we returned. The first time we were there we met up with Adel and her family. Today we went with Lauren, Auntie Liz, and Uncle Eric. We even brought along Emi.

Monkey See Monkey Do
Sophie and Hannah are not only mimicking me in speech, but in what I do. Early as an infant they loved my cellphone and the tv remote because they see me with it so often OOPS! Now they've moved on to the mysterious roller bag that mommy totes around everyday.
Tonight was challenging with Hannah as she is easily frustrated when she learns something new. She has been having trouble coordinating eating with a utensil. I've been working with Sophie for the past week or so and she pretty much got the hang of it, so I left her with her bibby and off she goes; although every night it is messy practice makes perfect.
Hannah on the other hand will not take to someone guiding her hand to her mouth, but with a lot of patience I let her throw her tantrum a couple of times without giving up and basically sat in front of her without emotion trying to gently position the spoon with some food and let her on her own put the spoon in her mouth. It's like the dog whisperer for babies, you can't give in, but I was really proud as I'm not the most patient person prior to the babies or heck even now. Anyway she did put a couple scoops into her mouth on her own and ended up using her hand to put anything else that she didn't manage to guide from her spoon. Although she didn't eat much I am quite impressed that she budged and tried to do something with someone helping her :D
I find with each hurdle we come across; the learning curve isn't only for the babies, but really for us as well!!!

Missing babies
As in I'm missing the girls! Back to work for mama and back to daycare for the twins. Sophie and Hannah are so fast when left to run around without any barriers. Tonight Sophie wanted to play in the jumperoo she used to play in as an infant and Hannah ran around the upstairs with her bath toys.
I remember I couldn't wait for the girls to walk....what was I thinking?
Here Hannah makes a break with her bath toys out of her room.
And here Hann is playing with them on my bookshelf near our room.
It was a good thing that Soph Soph wanted to play in her jumperoo, because I wouldn't be able to chase two of them at the same time, although she is way too big for the jumperoo (we got it for the girls when they were 4 months old), but we figure she could get some last playtime in before we get rid of it.

Fun and more fun!
Today we went to be meet up with some friends up in Sacramento. We finally met Cooper! Audrey taught the girls the word "ta-dah" as in yay I did it. We were sad we missed Xander who was away in Seattle :( However it was great seeing Uncle Jim, Auntie Brandi, Audrey, and Cooper. Oh yeah we missed seeing Flower, the cat, too.
Yesterday it was raining and the girls went stir crazy. We decided to take them out somewhere just for them. We ended up going to San Jose Children's Discovery Museum. Apparently every other parent thought it was a great idea to go too and sadly it was not the greatest experience for us grown-ups. The girls didn't seem to mind it though and had a lot of fun, but with all the madness of too many bodies moving around and too much heat from all those people; we didn't stay long. We would like to go back when there's less people as the activities and play rooms were really interesting and fun. And another sad fact was that I forgot the camera in the car...

Thanks for having us over :)

Happy New Year!
These pics were taken on New Year's Eve. We took the girls out for a walk around the neighborhood because they were stir crazy. I bundled them up good because it is really cold here!!! The girls slept at their normal 8 p.m. bedtime hour; meanwhile mommy took a nap, but managed to wake up before midnight and watch Dick Clark at Times Square with daddy :)
We hope everyone had a safe and happy new year, welcome to 2009!
