Enzo's Red Egg and Ginger Party
It was our first Red Egg and Ginger party that we went to (a celebration of a baby living for 100 days) a celebration for our friend Enzo. We had a lot of fun and the girls got to see what San Francisco's China Town is like. Sophie and Hannah got to meet up with baby Joshua, Mia, and one sleeping Enzo.
As we went around China Town the girls got some attention from people asking about the girls. There were a lot of babies/toddlers out and about today and now that I have the girls I notice more playgrounds and such. Interesting enough right smack dab in China Town at the parking center there is a playground for kids...very interesting!
After the party we stopped by a store that sold kites and misc stuff. I decided since the weather was great to stop in and pick up a kite. Our next entry might be about us flying a kite with the twins. It was unfortunate that Hannah finally had her meltdown and we couldn't go and explore further (mommy wanted to get toddler chopsticks and some take out dim sum). Oh well such such is the life of having toddlers and missing our nap time.
Before the meltdown Hannah sneaked and opened the party favors and managed to eat up all the M&M's (her first). Ahh she's a choc-a-holic just like her mommy!!! Did that stop her from taking a nap? Nope!!! Hannah and Sophie both slept for almost 3 hrs when we got home, a record.

Daddy Daycare
On Saturday mommy went to Auntie Flo's baby shower leaving daddy alone for most of the day with the girls. They had fun playing with daddy and actually spent most of the day napping :P
When mommy got home the girls were outside riding their tricycles and playing with Emi. Too bad the camera's smart card filled up and we couldn't take any footage of that. Daddy taught Hannah how to throw the ball to Emi for "fetch".

Busy busy
July is a busy month for us with all the different activities going on...mommy is trying to keep up with some blog entries...
Here are some pics to tie us over...
Hannah and Sophie's favorite book to look at is "I Spot", a book of Blue's Clues items you match up. Hannah points out all the different things she sees. Some of which are kangaroos, crabs, dolphins, violin, seagulls, tricycles, etc. Sophie likes to count things at the moment, but somehow she likes to skip the number 3. She counts 1...2....1....4...5...6... hahahaha she likes 1.

Happy Birthday Xander!
We had a bunch of birthdays this weekend. We celebrated Xander's birthday today out in Benicia where we met up with Uncle Jim, Auntie Brandi, Audrey, Cooper, and the birthday boy himself Xander (who turned 8!!!, both Der and I are amazed how time has flown we remember Xander as a baby back in San Jose) and their family and friends.
The girls had alot of fun playing on the huge wooden jungle gym, swings, etc at the local Benicia park where the party was. They ran all around, played with Audrey and Uncle Jim toddler softball, tried to go to another party to go on a Hello Kitty jumper (tried because mommy and daddy stopped us).
Xander is really into skateboarding and knows all the pro skaters facts. Naturally the cake was a skateboard ramp. (Xander in the black t-shirt)
Mommy cuddling with Cooper and Hannah.
Thanks for inviting us we had fun!

Happy Birthday Lauren!
Our friend Lauren turned 2 this past Friday and we celebrated by eating at Fenton's ice-creamery (featured in the movie "Up") on Saturday.
Earlier Hannah had been battling congestion, coughs and sneezes we thought it was a cold, but it is a bad case of allergies. Seems to come on in the morning and at night worse. We don't know what is making her have these reactions as we have tried vacuuming, washing the bedsheets, avoiding dairy products, etc. I will continue to monitor and we may need to take her to the doctor as she sometimes has a hard time sleeping at night.
The girls are on high speed picking up words and forming mini sentences. I am also amazed that they still remember their sign language words as we (Der and I) have been slacking with them. They both love singing, however only Sophie sang "Happy Birthday" to Lauren. They both can name Dora and the characters on the show, they know the Wonder Pets "team work", and can sing Yo Gabba Gabba's theme song. Their favorite movie is hands down "Finding Nemo" yes, still! They cry out to us Nemo! Nemo! They also like Dori, Nemo's friend and love when I say "Just keep swimming". Their second favorite movie is "Monster's Inc."
Sophie's favorite line is "I did it!" She also likes to scold Hannah and tell her to go to the naughty spot. Hannah's favorite line is "ocha ocha" she says this to watch the youtube video of the Japanese children song Ocha or her other favorite youtube is Calliou and she always calls out for it. She doesn't talk as much as Sophie, but uses her words well as when she is hungry she says "mommy eat" and signs it or when she's thirsty she says "mommy drink" and signs that too! The other day I took Hannah with me to walk Emi and we saw a dog running around. She called out "woah woah where are you!", "I see you!". Woah woah is what she calls dogs (Lauren called dogs that and she copies her).

Cool Restaurant and Fairyland
Today mommy wanted to do something fun before daddy went back to work and mommy set out to fly solo with us for the next two days. So we went to Costco in San Leandro to fill up gas to start our adventure and mommy used her iPhone to figure out if the Charles Schulz museum was open because daddy had suggested we go. Unfortunately our GPS told us Santa Rosa was 1 1/2 hrs out from SF and that would be overkill for a spur of the moment adventure.
Thanks to Yelp we found a cool restaurant to have brunch at called Dick's Restaurant which is where one of mommy's favorite bands filmed their video (Radiohead - High and Dry!!!). Mommy had chicken fried steak and shared it with us and daddy had an omlet, we thought the food was only so-so.
Next mommy GPS'ed Fairyland out in Oakland (which she had read on a forum earlier on things to do with your young kids). We had a great time although we didn't quite read all the fairy tales as of yet it was quite fun to do. Mommy and daddy were impressed that it was in pretty good shape for a place that was open since the 1950's. We saw animals, rode a slide, played on a stage, watched briefly a magic show, rode a train, saw bubbles, played with a huge dragon, played in a make believe town, etc. Most of the rides were for older children probably 4 and up as there was a height restriction.
Daddy was as excited as mommy for finding a cool restaurant. Although it was sunny outside it was very breezy and cold which was strange because the past week was pretty hot.
Hannah, Mommy, and Sophie. Yes, mommy too doesn't remember the fairy tales nor paid attention to the signs because she can't remember this one LOL!

Happy 4th of July!
Every year Uncle Ray and Auntie Flo do a 4th of July celebration at their house and here are some pics mommy and daddy took while we were there. Earlier in the day we spent it at home recovering from yesterday's activities. I guess we must've been really tired still because Soph Soph slept in the car on our way back from the Tanaka's and Hann crashed out after going to bed.
Meeting Tyson at a new park
The girls had a blast at a park that re-opened in Union City called Charles Kennedy park not to be mistaken with the park we went to before in Hayward called John F. Kennedy, both are referred to as "Kennedy park".
The girls, Derek and I met up with Auntie Vonk and Tyson. It was a nice hot day and we all enjoyed the park a lot even though there were a ton of kids due to summer camp. The summer fun kids ran around like crazy and I was afraid they were going to roll Sophie and Hannah down, but they were surprisingly very courteous to the girls and referred to them as babies which was funny, because they weren't too much older being 6-8 yrs old. One of the little girls there really was taken with the twins and followed us all over the park wanting to swing them and hold them and play with them, it was really cute.
The girls were really into Ty boy and called him baby which was so cute. They were so curious, wanting to peek at him in the stroller from time to time. We will definitely have more playdates at that park as Auntie Vonk and mommy agree that it is a pretty cool park. There was a huge bridge mimicking the Golden Gate Bridge, swings, great jungle gyms interconnecting one another, a separate baby playground, rolling logs, play horses, play separate train cabs, mini merry-go-round, mountain climbing, etc. The only thing mommy didn't like was the train passing more than a few times, it was quite noisy!
