Cool Restaurant and Fairyland

Today mommy wanted to do something fun before daddy went back to work and mommy set out to fly solo with us for the next two days. So we went to Costco in San Leandro to fill up gas to start our adventure and mommy used her iPhone to figure out if the Charles Schulz museum was open because daddy had suggested we go. Unfortunately our GPS told us Santa Rosa was 1 1/2 hrs out from SF and that would be overkill for a spur of the moment adventure.

Thanks to Yelp we found a cool restaurant to have brunch at called Dick's Restaurant which is where one of mommy's favorite bands filmed their video (Radiohead - High and Dry!!!). Mommy had chicken fried steak and shared it with us and daddy had an omlet, we thought the food was only so-so.

Next mommy GPS'ed Fairyland out in Oakland (which she had read on a forum earlier on things to do with your young kids). We had a great time although we didn't quite read all the fairy tales as of yet it was quite fun to do. Mommy and daddy were impressed that it was in pretty good shape for a place that was open since the 1950's. We saw animals, rode a slide, played on a stage, watched briefly a magic show, rode a train, saw bubbles, played with a huge dragon, played in a make believe town, etc. Most of the rides were for older children probably 4 and up as there was a height restriction.

Daddy was as excited as mommy for finding a cool restaurant. Although it was sunny outside it was very breezy and cold which was strange because the past week was pretty hot.

Mommy, Soph and Hann at the entrance.

Hannah rings the bell.

Mommy and us go to a see the house.

Hannah, Mommy, and Sophie. Yes, mommy too doesn't remember the fairy tales nor paid attention to the signs because she can't remember this one LOL!

These were some umbrella saucer things near the Humpty Dumpty wall.

Mommy shows Sophie the alpaca.

The alpaca proudly wears a "Fairyland" t-shirt to keep him warm after being sheared.

Hannah reaches for the giraffe.

The girls come out of a house sized just for them.

Wheeeeee mister dragon!
