After chatting with Liz that day I had told her how much I liked songs on commercials (I'm embarrassed to say, I've become the annoying customers I hated at Tower..."you know that song that goes like this.."). To my defense I have not been exposed to radio, vh-1 videos what have you because I've been preoccupied by two little bundles of joy *smiles*. Anyway, I told her I liked the Old Navy sweater song and she said that's a real song not a commercial song. She found the origins of how it came about and that the artist named Ingrid Michaelson was found on MySpace.
Fast forward to Friday sitting at home chatting yet again to Liz telling her about Ingrid's appearance in the city at Borders promoting her self released CD. I was tempted to go to SF to see her play, but had spent the night with Hannah who wasn't feeling good (just a bout with a 24 hr thing, she was good that day). Liz and I started talking about how to get there by train, the next thing I knew we were packing up the kids and going on an adventure!!! So the babies had a bunch of firsts: first trip to SF, first trip on BART, first concert (or instore if you want to be precise), and first encounter with a musician (other than her father of course, but you know what I mean :P Ingrid's voice is just amazing and she's an awesome person!).
When Ingrid and Allie (the guitarist, and is an awesome person as well) played, all three babies started to get hungry. It was 1 p.m. and of course the twins decided it was then that they were gonna get up. I enjoyed the performance, but I have to admit throughout the performance my attention was divided between having to keep the babies quiet (feeding them) and trying to enjoy the show. After the show Ingrid and Allie were sticking around for some autographs and photos. Liz and I waited until we were the last ones around.
The girls were gracious enough to not only sign our CDs and chat with us, but take some great pics with the babies!!!
I had a grand ole time and I hope the babies did too. Thanks to Aunty Liz for helping out with everything and coming with!!!
